Telus siemens gigaset se567 wireless setup
Very much appreciate any suggestions! Michael Daly [H]ard Gawd. Joined Jan 6, Messages 1, See if you can set the Gigaset into bypass mode. That makes it operate as a modem only. Then you can set the router to do all routing tasks. That should solve your Gigaset routing problems with a web site. BTW - does Telus permit you to run a web server? That may be why your web server doesn't work.
Taking a look through it's web-based interface, I can disable the firewall, or enable DMZ but doesn't look like there is any full bypass mode there. Is there possibly some other way to turn bypass mode on outside of the web-based interface? I presume the web-based interface wouldn't be accessible if bypass mode was on, so perhaps another way to do this is likely ElvisG Limp Gawd. You can find the IP of the main router by either going into the web interface of it or bringing up the Command Prompt. When you turn-off the DHCP in every wireless router this basically turns it into a wireless switch.
So it should look like this. Joined Mar 2, Messages 17, You should call the ISP and request a dedicated modem mention that you would like to use your own router. Thanks for the information! I'm a little worried about connecting the 2nd router to the Siemens as I fear it may filter traffic If their modem only has one out port I assume i could hook it up to a switch, then connect the two routers to the switch.
I know I can get two IP addresses from them, so I'm guessing that would work Joined Jul 25, Messages 10, ElvisG said:. User Name Remember Me? Telus torrent issues. In the last few weeks I have noticed that I cannot download Torrents anymore, after doing some reading around I have found that Telus apparently blocked torrent downloading. I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with this problem or any other suggestions?
I just got that modem and the telus service and when I used port forwarding, i was getting close to download speed, which was better than the shaw connection at half the price. You might want to check if the port you forward is not comman for torrents. The only thing I get is a warning for excessive sessions, which I permanently ignore I also have TelusTV.
There's pros and cons- my brother has Shaw internet and they've been trying to throttle him for years. Do you have a torrent client that encrypts the torrent so they dont know what it is?
Cheering for the flames in Edmonton, oh so much fun! Yeah make sure and use a random port, not the standard port. Not that that stops them anymore as they can do deep packet inspection to figure out it is torrent traffic. And agree with User Name, make sure and turn on encryption, I have mine set to use it if possible but not require it.
Shaw's been great for me, never had a peep from them though I stay under my cap typically and I saturate my link all the time..
But certainty is an absurd one. Find More Posts by photon. Originally Posted by User Name. Glowduke join Calgary, AB. I will double check. However will retain a Private networking set up, ie, I will have to check further on this device. Hopefully I can respond with findings by Mid-afternoon on Friday. WOW, I am sorry about the delay. I have been a bit busy over here. Anyhow, I dug out the Siemens and tried to muck with the settings, it is not an easy device.
I believe that what we are trying to achieve is beyond the scope of the device. Good Luck, let me know if you have more ideas. Most commented news last week [43] Happy New Year! If you have more than one DHCP server on a network, both servers will respond to the request, but the connecting computer will only acknowledge the first one received.
