NOTE: You will have to re-install any software and updates you installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for the updates. I hope this helps. Good luck! In reply to DavidMCandy's post on March 11, I did a system restore to 2 days ago. I could only go back that far sense I deleted all backups because of Vistas automatic restore points taking so much disk space Anywho.
I went back 2 days, then the problem went away. The whilst shutting down, it said installing updates 1 of I left my laptop wile they installed. I had no clue what the update was.
I just figured it was a Microsoft update Then came back, logged into my user and the problem came back. I will try the above tips and reply with my results. In reply to Clayd26's post on March 11, So the system restore worked, but there were 11 pending updates awaiting a reboot when the restore point was created.
When you rebooted they finished installing and brougt back the problem, meaning that the problem was caused by one or more of the updates. You can't cancel these pending updates before they install they've already been installed and are awaiting a reboot to finalize as far as I know - it's a shame you don't have an earlier restore point or one before these updates installed.
