The Nero Audio Decoder always outputs 24bit. Ok, so I thought I could simply convert that to 16bit without any loss. However, I've just checked: If I convert the 24bit Nero output to 16bit and then back to 24bit, the result is different to the original.
It seems that there's more than 16bit real information in the Nero output. But the TrueHD track is only 16bit! I don't quite understand this. My only explanation would be that the Nero audio decoder does some processing on the decoded data, e. That's kind of bad, though, since that means that converting to 16bit may end up harming the audio quality. Awesome work with TrueHD! As you say you don't want to harm the audio but at the same time you don't want your FLAC files to be larger then they need to be.
Anyways - great work! Unfortunately, 64k 1. Is this a limitation of Sonic's decoder? Mono files are not supported by eac3to, simply because I don't have such a file for testing. If you can send me the first 5MB of an eac3 mono file, I can probably add support for that, I guess. About m2ts: Probably Nero supports that, too. But again I need a sample file.
If you can get me a m2ts file with only TrueHD in it and no video e. Damn, I should have asked before I bought the decoder pack. Definitely in multichannel. All 5. Video looks great but no sound.
I have tried following the guides for using Dts2Ac3 and for using a combination of Foobar and Aften. I cannot get Dts2Ac3 to work at all command prompt screen disappears in under 1 second when I try. I have spent hours reading and searching for a solution for this but can't seem to get anything to work.
Can someone point me toward a guide or either explain the process in detail? I should also add that I'm trying to convert to AC3 5. I found a guide that used ffdshow but it was only for 2 channel sound.
It is really easy. You need one application and it's GUI. It's called eac3to and eac3toGUI, download both of them here. Click on all boxes and hit delete except for the first box. This is your input file alone. Scroll down on same menu and double click file writer.
Choose folder and file name for your output file. Make sure to put the. If you forget to do this it will still work, but your file will have no extension. Just add the.
Really you might as well select all three of those extras when installing. Back to outputting this ac3, close the filter selection box after you've got the audio decoder, and file writer. Drag a line from the audio output of the first box your input file, and if it's an audio rather than video file, you'll only have 1 output nub , to the input on the ffdshow audio decoder box.
Right click and hit properties. Resampling: which can be set to resample if below 48khz. Output: check these bit, 2-ac3, 3-allow direct to file output.
Also select your bit-rate up by ac3 check box. I use for stereo and for 5. You need for 5. And the connect to: select any filter. Last step, drag a line from the output box to the input of file writer box.
Hit the green play button in the toolbar. When it turns green again, your file is done. Changes made in the ffdshow filter properties hold, so next time you use the only thing you might need to adjust is if you're encoding stereo or 5. Make sure to uncheck LFE when encoding stereo or you'll get a 2.
In ffdshow properties, check volume. You can adjust master, seperate channels, or normalize. These solutions not only work very well, but are also fast. Maybe more if you change bit-rate as there is a couple of mins. You can find some helpful tutorials here at videohelp on these 2 programs if you need more clarification. Also, if you run into any problems with encodes with graphedit, try a different version of ffdshow.
Also audio must be demuxed to use MeGui. GraphEdit won't work with DTS. The only reason I don't use just graphedit exclusively. Last edited by Genaugmen; 26th Jul at Although I didn't get as deep into the settings as you, It always works for me if I set the bitrate to It skips every few minutes and it is apparently Ac3 related. Nobody has found a solution from what I can tell.
Hi guys! I am new here. It is a very good app. Just wanted to let you know, for another good app. I have been using a utility called mkv2ac3 version 1. I usually find DTS audio in mkv files. These unnecessarily take too much extra space. In most cases the audio quality does not suffer if you maintain at least 48 kb rate per channel. Set higher for better quality sound. My usual is kb for 5. That worked great! I always use eac3to to do all of my converting but it was returning an error and would fail to process, this worked great!
The default is 16, but you can easily select 24 bit for 5. In the past this was no problem, since as far as i understand formats which can't be passed through got converted on the fly. Nov 06, 0 Likes. AC3 VS. Now easy solution for all Codec related issues on Android is to simply try a new player. Dolby Digital Plus is widely used by streaming and broadcast services to deliver surround sound audio at lower bitrates.
In addition to supporting 5. I dissassembled libaudioflinger. What should I do if the video contains an unsupported audio track? On Linux systems, installing ffmpeg gives us access to the ffmpeg command, which can be used to convert audio files to various types, such as wav, mp3, ogg, etc. With EAC3 channel i have black screen. Up to 7.
