Windows 3g phone

I've had my Microsoft XL windows phone for over a year now, and it has always worked very well. However, lately I noticed that my 4g LTE network dropped to 3g with my family Mobile carrier, powered by t-mobile. Every time I call for answers, I am given a different answer and nothing is ever resolved. It is a 4g LTE phone, and my package is for 4g speeds. Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
